THIS WEEK IN DETAIL:

TELL LEGISLATORS TO OVERRIDE THE GOVERNOR'S VETOES

Governor Martinez vetoed the budget and the tax package that would have supported it, two minimum wage bills, a bill banning possession of guns by domestic abusers, the pregnant workers accommodation bill, a bill to ban the use of solitary confinement for teens and pregnant women, the bill banning conversion therapy for youths under 18, closing the lobbyist loophole, and installation of solar panels at government offices. She has created a $775 million deficit in the state budget with spiteful vetoes including a tax package full of small fee and revenue increases supported by a majority of New Mexico voters and both chambers of the legislature. Without those funds, she has chosen to balance the budget by cutting funding for every college and university in New Mexico. Seven years of a Martinez/Sanchez administration have made New Mexico first in unemployment and poverty.

All of these vetoes mean there will be a special session, which will be a costly proposition for our already financially strained state. This is no way to lead, and its time for our elected officials to push back.

Find your local representatives HERE, and call and ask that they override her destructive onslaught of vetoes.

DEMAND A CONGRESSIONAL DEBATE AND VOTE ON U.S. ACTIONS IN SYRIA

Both Congresswoman Michelle Lujan Grisham of New Mexico's 1st district and Congressman Ben Ray Lujan of New Mexico's 3rd district have issued statements calling for a congressional debate regarding further action by the U.S. military in Syria.

Congressman Steve Pearce of New Mexico's 2nd district has made no statement on the matter.

Please call your Congressperson and demand an immediate Congressional debate on military action in Syria, even if your Congressperson has already expressed this view, it is important for them to hear from their constituents that they have our support.

Thank you for all you are doing!

In solidarity,
